“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105 NIV
Dear Friends,
I’m sure you have heard of the saying that “the church is just one generation away from extinction.” Now more than ever, I believe this to be a true statement. I also believe that it is imperative for churches to mobilize our congregations for tomorrow today.
As we as Christians face the 21st Century, you must ask yourself… “Is my faith ready meet the challenges that I will face each and every day I live and work in today’s world? Am I confident enough in my faith to reach out to unchurched populations and effectively build up the Body of Christ?
Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 9:24b-25…
“Run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24b-25 (NLT)
I believe the main point that Paul is sharing with us is that without a goal, discipline is nothing more than self-punishment. This is not so with the Christian for we have the goal of pleasing our Father in Heaven. So we discipline ourselves by making sacrifices such as getting up an extra hour earlier to get involved in a Sunday ABF or go out another night of the week and participate in a Small group in order to grow in our relationship with Him and with other Believers within the Body of Christ here at NCC. However, our sacrifices and self-discipline seems like nothing compared to the eternal, imperishable reward that will be ours.
It is our goal to prepare each and every adult to build an Adult Ministry that will strengthen Believers and reach out to the unconnected of our congregation for today’s 21st Century Church.
We invite you to join with all the Believers at Northside Christian Church in our training to win a prize that will not fade away! Come grow with us!
